Welcome explorers! I am so excited to be joining the LCC Science staff this year! Before I get to know you, I wanted to tell you a little bit more about myself. I, like most of you, was born and raised in sunny Encinitas! I too attended LCC and was a soccer and field hockey player. After graduating I studied environmental science at UC Berkeley and in 2011, I was lucky enough to spend 6 months abroad in Ghana, West Africa studying Wildlife Ecology. I realized that the earth is a precious resource and I have been trying to save the world ever since. After college, I was involved in wildlife research at the Safari Park and worked closely with the cheetah and Okapi. I also worked with the public on Water Conservation before finding my love of teaching. I can't wait to inspire my students to love science and be the next Jane Goodall, Steve Irwin, or Mrs. Frizzle. The world of science is always changing and evolving and I hope to keep students involved in what is next. Though mine is science, my ultimate goal as a teacher is to help my students find their passion, no matter what it may be.
Outside of school, you will probably find me soaking up the California sun, playing soccer, and exploring our beautiful planet. I love to hike, camp, and get outdoors whenever possible. I am learning to cook and am also finding a new love of gardening and growing my own organic produce.
My teams are Chelsea FC, Padres, Green Bay Packers, of course the Mavericks!
If you have more questions, feel free to ask! I'm an open book!
